Baku: Relations between the Azerbaijani and Italian Navies are continuing successfully, as confirmed by the Ministry of Defense to APA. On October 23, the Commander of the Azerbaijan Navy, 1st grade Captain Shahin Mammadov, held a meeting with the military attach© of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan, 1st grade Captain Gianfranco Vizzini.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting featured a broad exchange of views focusing on cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Italian Armed Forces, particularly in military and military education sectors, alongside other issues of shared interest.

In the meeting’s conclusion, the Italian guest presented the “Students’ Sword of Honour” and a certificate on behalf of the Italian Navy Command to Lieutenant Humbat Gasimov. Lieutenant Gasimov graduated with honors from the Navy Faculty of the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev under the National Defense University in the 2024-2025 academic year. This recognition aligns with the “Protocol of Intent between the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Minister of Defense of the Italian Republic on cooperation in the field of training and education of Naval Forces personnel.”
