Azerbaijani Ombudsperson Engages with Slovak National Council Members

Baku: Azerbaijani Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva met with Marcela Cavojov¡ and Zuzana Matejckov¡, members of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, in Baku. During the meeting, Sabina Aliyeva emphasized the close relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Aliyeva recalled her recent meeting with her Slovak counterpart and informed the guests about the friendly relations established between the ombudsman institutions of Azerbaijan and Slovakia. She highlighted the institution's mandate and its efforts to protect human rights and freedoms.

The Ombudsperson also spoke about the expansion of her mandate over the years, the activities of monitoring groups focused on ensuring the right to equality and preventing discrimination, as well as relevant best practices. Members of the Slovak National Council, Marcela Cavojov¡ and Zuzana Matejckov¡, thanked the Ombudsperson for the warm welcome and noted that the multifaceted relations between the two countries continue to develop successfully, while Slovak companies are actively participating in reconstruction and construction efforts in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.

The parties also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and discussed prospects for future cooperation.
