Baku:On October 28, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, held discussions with a delegation led by Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OIC, emphasizing the significant role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering unity and solidarity among OIC member states.

Sahiba Gafarova remarked on the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, noting its evolution into a major global platform for promoting intercultural and interreligious dialogues, initiated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The OIC Secretary-General highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and affirmed the organization's support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty, commending Azerbaijan's restoration efforts in its liberated territories.
