Baku: Azerbaijani People’s Artist Nazim Baykishiyev is currently in a critical condition, as confirmed by his son, Zohrab Beykishiyev. The artist has been battling lung cancer for an extended period.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Zohrab Beykishiyev revealed that financial constraints have prevented his father from being admitted to a hospital. He mentioned that the relevant authorities have been notified about the situation.

Nazim Beykishiyev is a State Award laureate and has had a significant impact on Azerbaijani theater. He was the founding artist and chief artist of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater, Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater, and Azerbaijan State National Young Spectators Theater.
