Baku: The qualification of the national teams of Trkiye and Uzbekistan for the World Cup is a victory for the Turkic world, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov at the meeting of prime ministers and vice presidents of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Baku, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, on March 31, the Turkish national team secured qualification for the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, for the first time in 24 years following a 1-0 victory over Kosovo. This victory has become a source of joy for the Turkic world. Prime Minister Asadov extended sincere congratulations to Trkiye on this historic achievement.

Simultaneously, Uzbekistan's national team has also qualified for the World Cup for the first time in its history, a milestone achieved in June last year. The prime minister expressed that Uzbekistan's accomplishment brings pride and joy to the Turkic community. Both of these achievements are seen as a collective triumph for the Turkic world, symbolizing the rise of Turkic peoples across various fields.
