Baku: Azerbaijan's population has increased by 37,462 people, or 0.4 percent, as of January 1, 2026, reaching a total of 10,262,351.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the State Statistical Committee provided data showing that 54.3 percent of Azerbaijan's residents live in urban areas, while 45.7 percent reside in rural areas. The gender composition of the population is nearly balanced, with 49.8 percent being men and 50.2 percent being women.
