Azerbaijani President Calls for Accountability in Khojaly Genocide

Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the need for accountability for the perpetrators of the Khojaly genocide during his meeting with the representatives of the Khojaly district community. "The impact of the 'Justice for Khojaly!' campaign has been enormous. Let me repeat that we demanded justice. Unfortunately, however, international organizations and leading countries of the world remained indifferent to our tragedy," President Aliyev stated, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the steps taken toward attaining justice, including the official recognition of the Khojaly genocide by about 20 countries, the Patriotic War, the liberation of Khojaly city, and the recent trial of war criminals in Baku. He asserted that those responsible for the Khojaly genocide, whose actions resulted in significant loss of life, needed to be held accountable in a court of law.
