Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed concerns about potential disruptions in Armenia's political landscape during an interview with Saudi Arabia's Al Arabiya TV channel, as reported by APA. President Aliyev emphasized his hope that nothing would obstruct the ongoing process, although he acknowledged the absence of absolute guarantees due to his limited understanding of Armenia's internal politics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted Armenia's upcoming parliamentary elections next summer and their work on drafting a new constitution. He warned that any substantial external interference could jeopardize the agreements made, which would be detrimental to Armenia. Aliyev noted that the documents signed in Washington were done so on behalf of Armenia by its leader, and any deviation from these agreements could severely damage Armenia's relations with the United States and the broader international community, including Europe, Trkiye, and Arab countries, which have supported this process.
President Aliyev stressed that maintaining the current arrangements is crucial for Armenia's peace and stable development. He underscored that breaking these agreements would equate to defying the global community, questioning what Armenia would gain from such a move.
