Azerbaijani President Extends Congratulations to Somali Counterpart on National Holiday

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on the occasion of Somalia’s national holiday.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev expressed his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on behalf of himself and the Azerbaijani people to President Mohamud and the Somali nation. He highlighted the developing relations between Azerbaijan and Somalia, referring to President Mohamud’s official visit to Azerbaijan in February as a significant event in the history of their interstate relations.

President Aliyev fondly recalled their meeting during the visit, noting the atmosphere of sincerity and mutual trust. He emphasized the favorable conditions that now exist to further expand the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Somalia. Aliyev expressed confidence that both countries will continue their joint efforts to strengthen friendly ties and develop cooperation both bilaterally and within multilateral platforms, in the interests of their peoples.

In his message, President Aliyev wished President Mohamud good health and success in his endeavors, and extended wishes for everlasting peace and prosperity to the people of Somalia.
