Azerbaijani President Highlights Nation’s Role in Trkiye-Israel Normalization

Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev recently emphasized Azerbaijan's involvement in the initial phase of normalization between Trkiye and Israel. In an interview with Al-Arabiya TV channel, he noted that Azerbaijan's role in fostering dialogue between the two nations was acknowledged and appreciated by both parties.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the significance of Azerbaijani efforts amid evolving diplomatic relations between Trkiye and Israel. He referenced a visit by Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Trkiye as a sign of progress and expressed satisfaction at the countries finding common ground. However, he acknowledged the current tensions and reiterated Azerbaijan's willingness to assist in resolving issues, either through direct involvement or discreet diplomatic channels.

President Aliyev underscored the importance of safety and security, drawing on Azerbaijan's extensive experience of over three decades of conflict. This background, he suggested, informs Azerbaijan's commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.
