Baku: Medals 'For services in the field of military cooperation' were posthumously awarded to journalist Maharram Ibrahimov and cameraman Siraj Abishov, who became Shehids, and were presented to their family members on August 27 at the Media and Public Affairs Department of the Ministry of Defense.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the presentation ceremony was held in the presence of a group of media representatives, where Major General Mushfig Mammadov, Chief of the Main Department for Personnel of the Ministry of Defense, highlighted the heroism displayed by the Shehids during the 44-day Patriotic War. He emphasized that the memories of Ibrahimov and Abishov are honored eternally.
The journalist and cameraman lost their lives in June 2021 due to a landmine explosion in the Kalbajar region while reporting on the atrocities committed by Armenians in the liberated territories. Their sacrifice is remembered as a symbol of selflessness by the Azerbaijani people.
Family members expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, along with the Ministry of Defense leadership, for their ongoing support and remembrance of all Shehids.
Additionally, the event recognized a group of media professionals for their efforts in promoting military patriotism, combating disinformation, and fostering cooperation with the Ministry of Defense.
