Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has approved a new law governing the diplomatic service, APA reports. This legislative development outlines the foundational principles of the diplomatic service and delineates the functional activities of diplomatic service bodies within Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the law “On Diplomatic Service” provides a comprehensive framework for the roles and responsibilities of diplomatic service employees. It includes specifications on the main duties and rights of these employees, applicable restrictions, and measures for employee encouragement. The law further details the procedures for disciplinary actions and introduces a new classification of positions within diplomatic service bodies. It also specifies procedures for the rotation of employees, conditions necessitating their recall, and guidelines for the disposition and removal from duties. Additionally, the law addresses the calculation of the length of diplomatic service and establishes the age limit for serving in the diplomatic service.
