Azerbaijani President Outlines Conditions for Peace Treaty with Armenia

Shusha: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has detailed the conditions necessary for signing a peace treaty with Armenia, emphasizing two key legal issues. During a meeting at the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, he stated that the resolution of constitutional matters and the dissolution of the Minsk Group are pivotal for the agreement’s finalization.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev elaborated on the possibility of initialling the agreement beforehand. He explained that the Azerbaijani side proposed this idea in Abu Dhabi, clarifying that initialling signifies a commitment beyond verbal agreement. This step involves placing initials on every page of the document to signify progress. The President expressed optimism, noting that both nations are close to reaching this stage in the peace process.
