Shusha: Speaking at the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev outlined the core principles of his policy: always telling the truth to the people, being objective and honest, and adhering to the norms of international law in all situations, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the head of state also emphasized the importance of geography in mitigating risks. President Aliyev noted that, for Azerbaijan, potential risks originate beyond its borders, and it is crucial to protect the nation from external surprises or risks. He stressed that geography plays a key role in this protective strategy.
President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s unique position as a member of both European and Muslim organizations as a factor in its successful policy. The country actively participates in summits and formats under the European Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and ECO, among others.
He further added that while defending national interests is essential, it is also important to consider the interests of neighboring countries. Protecting national interests should not be overemphasized outside of a regional or global context. By understanding the perspective of neighbors, potential misunderstandings can be effectively resolved.
