Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has issued a stern warning to civil servants, emphasizing that those who deviate from their responsibilities will ultimately face legal consequences. During a meeting with newly appointed Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in Nakhchivan and heads of several district executive authorities, Aliyev stressed the importance of serving the people and maintaining a close relationship with them.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted that humility is a necessary trait for individuals in leadership positions. He emphasized that both officials and their families must conduct themselves in a manner that avoids criticism and upholds the reputation of the state. Aliyev acknowledged that some officials have failed to behave properly, displaying arrogance and engaging in corrupt practices. He reassured the public that any civil servant involved in illegal activities will face accountability under the law.
Aliyev urged officials to combat corruption and select reliable, professional, and morally upright individuals for their teams. He underscored the importance of proving their leadership through effective work in their respective regions, warning that failure to do so would result in necessary actions being taken against them.
