President Ilham Aliyev Addresses Judicial Action Against Officials for Illegal Enrichment

Baku: President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the accountability measures being taken against officials involved in illegal enrichment, emphasizing the importance of social justice in regional governance. Speaking at a meeting with newly appointed Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in Nakhchivan and heads of several district executive authorities, Aliyev stressed the need for resolving regional issues that concern the populace.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev pointed out that previous problems in the regions stemmed from the misconduct and directives of certain officials within central executive bodies. He noted that significant personnel reforms have been implemented, resulting in improved governance. Aliyev expressed confidence that newly appointed officials would not receive unlawful instructions, contrasting with past practices where officials prioritized illegal enrichment and are now facing judicial proceedings.

The President also highlighted instances of inefficient land use and illegal land seizures, where some officials constructed residences on cultivable land. He reiterated that these actions were illegal and underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring justice and proper land use in Azerbaijan.
