Berlin: Elchin Amirbayov, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on Special Assignments, has paid a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, APA reports. During his visit, Amirbayov engaged in discussions with several key German officials to evaluate and enhance the relationship between the European Union and Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Amirbayov met with Gunther Krichbaum, Minister of State for Europe at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, as well as Foreign Policy Advisor to the President Wolfgang Dold. Meetings were also held with Deputy Advisor to the Federal Chancellor on Foreign and Security Policy Alexander Eberl, Chairman of the Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee Armin Laschet, and Head of the Bundestag's Germany-South Caucasus Parliamentary Friendship Group Mirze Edis. Additionally, discussions took place with other members of the group and Niklas Wagner, Director for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia at the German Foreign Office.
During these meetings, the parties exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan-EU relations, with particular focus on regional transport connectivity and the potential role of the European Union in facilitating this. The discussions highlighted that the past year had seen significant progress in EU-Azerbaijan relations, underscoring the importance of continuing this momentum in the coming months.
