Washington: Employees of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora and members of the Alliance of Azerbaijani-American Organizations (AAAO) visited the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. The visit was organized at the initiative of the Alliance and with the support of the State Committee.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Joan Weeks, head of the Near East Section at the Library of Congress, briefed the guests on the institution's history, activities, and extensive collections. She noted that the Library's online catalog and digital archive offer a wealth of resources on Azerbaijan's history, literature, language, Garabagh and Shusha, as well as the country's musical heritage.

The guests explored historical and contemporary publications on Azerbaijan, including works by prominent Azerbaijani literary figures and books on the country's history. They also viewed rare items, including the original manuscript of the U.S. Constitution.

Selhat Abbasova, head of a department at the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora, donated more than 20 publications on Azerbaijan's history and cultural heritage to the Library. Joan Weeks thanked the State Committee, noting that the publications would further enrich the Library's collection on Azerbaijan.
