Manila:An in-person training on Value-Added Tax (VAT) related to international trade and e-commerce took place in Manila, Philippines, featuring participation from an Azerbaijani delegation.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event was co-organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the OECD Global Relations Programme on Taxation, and the OECD Korea Policy Centre. Representatives from various countries tax administrations, including Azerbaijan's State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, attended the gathering.
The discussions focused on the application of VAT to e-commerce and digital services, enhancing tax administration for e-commerce, and exploring advanced approaches in the field.
A bilateral meeting between the State Tax Service and the ADB was also part of the event. This meeting addressed the regional technical assistance project's current status on domestic resource mobilization, plans to establish a regional center for international tax cooperation in Azerbaijan, and strategies for improving taxation mechanisms and tax administration in the digital economy.
