Tbilisi: An Azerbaijani woman has been formally charged by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia for the illegal acquisition, storage, and importation of a significant quantity of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. According to APA’s local bureau, the court has imposed a preventive measure of arrest on the accused following the prosecutor’s office’s motion.

The investigation disclosed that the 37-year-old Azerbaijani citizen smuggled 6.2894 grams of methamphetamine and 6.3 grams of pregabalin into Georgia via Tbilisi International Airport. The charges against her could result in a sentence ranging from 20 years to life imprisonment if she is convicted.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the woman, born in 1998 and identified as E.A., was apprehended after law enforcement officials discovered narcotic and psychotropic substances in her hand luggage during an inspection at the airport. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover further details surrounding the case, with potential severe legal consequences for the accused.
