Baku: The Ombudsman's annual report for 2025 has been officially submitted to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This submission, which took place on February 24, 2026, follows the procedure established by the Constitutional Law and has been forwarded to the relevant state authorities, as stated by the Press Service of the Ombudsman to APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the report outlines the Ombudsman's efforts in addressing the violation of human rights and freedoms as enshrined in the Constitution of Azerbaijan and international treaties binding on the country. These violations were attributed to state authorities, municipalities, other institutions, and officials. The report also includes activities aimed at preventing human rights violations, results of legal awareness-raising, scientific-analytical work, collaboration with the public and civil society organizations, and international relations. It further contains recommendations and suggestions to enhance the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms.
In accordance with Article 14 of the Constitutional Law of Azerbaijan 'On the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan,' the annual report for 2025 concerning the protection of human rights in the Republic of Azerbaijan has been prepared. The report is scheduled to be reviewed by the Parliament of Azerbaijan before being made public. Additionally, the report is submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers, the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, and the Prosecutor General, no later than two months after the end of the year.
