President Ilham Aliyev Signs Order on Drinking Water Supply for Nakhchivan

Nakhchivan: The drinking water supply situation for the population of Nakhchivan will be improved, APA reports. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has signed an order in this regard.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan focuses on additional measures to enhance the provision of drinking water to the population in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, in coordination with the Authorized Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, is tasked with undertaking necessary actions. These actions include the preparation of design and cost estimate documentation, drilling, and ensuring the provision of drinking water through 40 sub-artesian wells across 38 settlements.

The initiative targets a population of more than 80,000 people, as outlined in the annex to the Order. This development marks a significant step towards addressing the water supply issues in the region, ensuring access to essential resources for the residents of Nakhchivan.
