Baku: One of Azerbaijan's primary objectives is to channel green energy to Nakhchivan through the Zangezur corridor, as announced by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov. This goal was highlighted during his address at the Fourth Climate Week (CW4) conference, part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the initiatives launched in Baku within COP29 have developed into a substantial and sustainable process. The ongoing Baku Climate Week is a continuation of these efforts. Minister Shahbazov emphasized the significance of finding optimal solutions and building a sustainable energy system amid evolving energy realities.

Shahbazov pointed out that Azerbaijan's initiatives within COP29 hold great importance, with the nation continuing its efforts in this realm. He mentioned that 64 countries have made commitments related to green energy, underscoring Azerbaijan's dedication to establishing a sustainable energy infrastructure.

He further outlined Azerbaijan's expectations for a sixfold increase in wind energy production by year's end, alongside significant growth in solar energy by the end of the next year. The Karabakh and East Zangezur regions are pivotal for developing Azerbaijan's green energy potential. Shahbazov reiterated the country's main objectives of delivering green energy from these regions to international markets, focusing on directing it to Nakhchivan via the Zangezur corridor and subsequently to Turkish and European markets.
