Baku: The amphibious aircraft “BE-200ÇS” of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, which was sent to Turkey to assist in extinguishing forest fires, has successfully returned to Azerbaijan, the Ministry announced. The aircraft was dispatched following an order from President Ilham Aliyev and participated in firefighting operations across several Turkish regions.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the “BE-200ÇS” aircraft was involved in firefighting efforts from August 18, 2024, in multiple locations, including Mugla, Bolu, Usak, Akhisar, Balikesir, Manisa, Izmir, and others. The aircraft dropped approximately 400 tons of water on fire zones and worked closely with local firefighting forces. The plane returned to Heydar Aliyev International Airport today at 14:40 local time after completing its mission.
