Baku: Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has announced the discovery of 203 additional landmines and 796 unexploded ordnances (UXOs) in recently liberated territories. This announcement pertains to operations conducted from February 16 to February 22, 2025, as reported by ANAMA to APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the operations led to the identification of 175 anti-personnel mines and 28 anti-tank mines. The UXOs and mines were found across several regions including Tartar, Aghdam, Aghdara, Lachin, Fuzuli, Shusha, Khojaly, Khankandi, Kalbajar, Khojavand, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan. Additional discoveries were made in the liberated villages of Baghanis Ayrim, Ashaghi Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gizilhajili within the Gazakh district.
The operations have resulted in 1,616.5 hectares of land being cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance, marking another step towards ensuring the safety and rehabilitation of these territories.
