Azerbaijan’s ANAMA Uncovers Extensive Landmines and UXOs in Liberated Areas

Baku: Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has reported on its operations conducted in the liberated territories for the month of February, as shared by ANAMA with APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a significant number of hazardous items were discovered, including 410 anti-personnel mines, 71 anti-tank mines, and 1621 unexploded ordnances (UXOs). These were found in several regions such as Tartar, Aghdam, Aghdara, Lachin, Fuzuli, Shusha, Khojaly, Khankandi, Kalbajar, Khojavand, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan. Additional discoveries were made in the liberated villages of Baghanis Ayrim, Ashaghi Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gizilhajili located in the Gazakh district.

ANAMA reported that a total of 4264.8 hectares of land were successfully cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance, enhancing safety and security in these areas as part of the ongoing clearance operations.
