Tbilisi: Azerbaijan imported 1,926 passenger cars valued at $66.4 million from Georgia during the first five months of this year. This data was reported by the foreign trade portal of the National Statistics Office of Georgia, according to APA's local bureau.
According to Azeri-Press News agency, the figures represent a significant drop compared to the same period last year, with car imports to Azerbaijan decreasing by 38.3% in value and nearly halving in quantity. This decline highlights a shift in trade dynamics between the neighboring countries.
From January to May, Georgia exported a total of 29,297 passenger cars worth $734.6 million. Of these, 6.57% were directed towards Azerbaijan, illustrating the significant role Azerbaijan plays in Georgia's car export market despite the recent decrease in imports.
