Azerbaijan’s Cash USD Exchange Volume Falls 23.4% in Early 2025


Baku: During January-February 2025, Azerbaijan’s banks conducted $732.429 million in cash US dollar exchange operations.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, calculations based on Central Bank data indicate a 23.4% decrease in this volume compared to the same period of the previous year.



In the first two months of 2025, the purchase of cash US dollars by banks increased by 6.4% compared to January-February 2024, reaching 260.5528 million. Meanwhile, sales saw a decrease of 33.6%, falling to 471.8771 million.



In addition to US dollar transactions, the period also saw shifts in euro exchanges. The purchase of cash euros by banks increased by 27.3% compared to January of the previous year, reaching 21.5402 million. Sales of euros also experienced growth, increasing by 30.7% to 40.8665 million.
