Baku: During the ongoing trial at the Baku Military Court, defendant Davit Ishkhanyan responded to questions from state prosecutors regarding the reasons behind the Armenian military aggression against Azerbaijan, APA reports. Ishkhanyan, an active member of the “Dashnakcutyun” party, stated: ‘I cannot talk about that particular period because I was very young at the time. However, as I grew older, I understood what the strategic goals and principles were. The strategic goal was the annexation of Karabakh to Armenia.’
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the trial involves Armenian citizens accused of crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, including waging an aggressive war, genocide, violations of the laws and customs of war, terrorism, financing terrorism, violent seizure of power, and other serious offenses. The proceedings are set to continue on April 4.
