Baku: In 2024, Azerbaijan exported 2 billion 138 million cigarettes worth 33 million 626 thousand USD.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the cigarette exports saw a significant increase, rising 2.4 times, equivalent to 19 million 341 thousand USD in value terms, and by 88.5% or 1 billion 3 million units in volume terms compared to 2023.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan’s cigarette and cigar production reached 16 billion 75 million units. Last year, Azerbaijan imported 74 million cigarettes valued at 1 million 355 thousand USD from countries including Trkiye, Bulgaria, and China, with 56.6 million units from Trkiye, 15.4 million units from Bulgaria, and 1.82 million units from China.

Notably, in 2024, 84% of Azerbaijan’s cigarette exports, amounting to 1.8 billion units, were sent to Georgia.
