Baku: Azerbaijan is actively working to bridge the divide between the Global North and the Global South through its ongoing diplomatic efforts, stated President Ilham Aliyev. Addressing the founding conference of the Global South NGO Platform, Aliyev emphasized the importance of fostering a more inclusive and effective dialogue between the two regions.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev acknowledged the persistent mistrust between the Global North and South as a significant obstacle to achieving long-term success. He highlighted Azerbaijan’s role as a bridge in addressing this imbalance and its dedication to contributing to confidence-building measures.

President Aliyev further underscored Azerbaijan’s unique position, having achieved economic and political transformation and restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty in the face of military aggression. He expressed Azerbaijan’s deep understanding of the challenges faced by the least developed and developing nations in the Global South and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to promoting cooperation and solidarity for lasting success.
