Baku: In the first half of 2026, Azerbaijan recorded a surplus of $4.7 billion in its current account balance (CAB), marking a significant increase compared to the same period last year. This information was disclosed by Samir Nasirov, Director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, as reported by APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the current account balance surplus was equivalent to 12.4% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP). This represents a substantial growth from the previous year's surplus of $2.6 billion for the corresponding period, illustrating an improvement in the country's economic indicators.
