Baku: Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Digital Development and Transport have engaged in discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in the realms of digital development and cybersecurity.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency hosted the meeting, where representatives from both ministries reviewed progress in digitalization, artificial intelligence, and innovation, while exploring future collaborative prospects.
The meeting underscored the significance of accelerating Azerbaijan's digital transformation and expanding cooperation among state institutions in information security and cybersecurity. Training professional personnel was highlighted as a pivotal aspect of this endeavor. It was noted that these measures align with the state policy led by President Ilham Aliyev and aim to fulfill the objectives of the 'Digital Development Acceleration Action Plan for 2026-2028'.
During the meeting, reference was made to the Digital Development Council's session in June 2026, chaired by First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, where accomplishments under the Action Plan and future priorities were thoroughly discussed. Strengthening institutional cooperation in cybersecurity and developing human capital were identified as essential goals.
The Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, under the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, plays a vital role by organizing professional courses and training sessions for Defense Ministry personnel. These initiatives significantly enhance the professionalism of servicemen in information security and cybersecurity, improving their capabilities to counter modern cyber threats and bolstering inter-agency cooperation.
