‘Zangezur’ Tanker Removed from UK’s Sanctions List

London: The Aframax-type 'Zangezur' tanker, owned by a joint venture between ASCO, a company within AZCON Holding, and SOCAR, has been delisted from the United Kingdom's sanctions list, with all sanctions imposed on it fully lifted.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the decision was made by the United Kingdom's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) on 7 July 2026. This development is the result of coordinated diplomatic and legal efforts undertaken by the Azerbaijani state.

In addition, the ASCO-owned vessel 'Zagatala', along with the 'Shusha', 'Garabagh', 'Khankendi', and 'Zangezur' tankers owned by the joint venture between ASCO and SOCAR, were removed from the European Union's sanctions list in April of this year by a decision from the Council of the European Union.
