Azerbaijan’s Economic Council Discusses Key Agricultural and Labor Market Issues.

BAKU: Azerbaijan's Economic Council, chaired by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, convened a meeting to address several significant topics, including agricultural insurance systems and labor market development. According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the council's agenda included discussions on agricultural insurance systems, activities of the Agrarian Insurance Fund, and risk management among farmers. Other topics covered were insurance legislation, regulation and control, and the enhancement of the agrarian insurance scheme's conceptual framework. Additionally, the role of the Karabakh Revival Fund in restoring and reconstructing liberated territories was examined, focusing on efficient fund utilization, investment management, and increasing investment income. The council also addressed the current state of the labor market, emphasizing key reforms in labor and employment, digitization, challenges, demographic trends, and the elimination of informal employment. Key speakers included Taleh Kazimov, Chairman of the Central Bank, Sahil Babayev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and Samad Bashirli, Deputy Minister of Economy. A report was presented by Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture. The meeting concluded with decisions on the discussed topics and instructions issued to the relevant bodies.
