Baku: Azerbaijan's Energy Minister, Parviz Shahbazov, met with OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais during the first meeting of the Technical Committee on the Charter of Cooperation (CoC) held in Baku.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, both leaders praised the outcomes of cooperation within the OPEC+ framework, emphasizing the Charter of Cooperation as a vital platform for expanding this successful partnership. The Secretary General expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan's role as a reliable partner in OPEC+ and acknowledged the support of President Ilham Aliyev. He highlighted the inaugural Technical Committee meeting in Baku as a significant milestone for deepening multilateral cooperation under the Charter of Cooperation.
Minister Shahbazov noted that the dialogue and cooperation through the OPEC+ platform have been instrumental in Azerbaijan's achievements in renewable energy. He mentioned that regular ministerial engagement and mutual trust have helped expand Azerbaijan's partnerships with international energy companies, particularly in large-scale renewable energy projects.
The meeting also involved discussions on future prospects of OPEC+ cooperation, potential expansion into new areas, and the effective realization of the Charter of Cooperation's potential.
