Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Announces Over 45 Billion Cubic Meters of Gas Transported to Europe via TAP


Baku: “To date, more than 45 billion cubic meters of gas have been supplied to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP),” the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov said in a post on X platform, APA-Economics reports.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, discussions were held with TAP’s Executive Director Luca Schieppati about the strategic role of the Southern Gas Corridor. These discussions focused on ensuring cost-effective, reliable, and sustainable energy supplies, as well as the expansion of the TAP pipeline and the reduction of methane emissions. The post emphasized that over 45 billion cubic meters of gas have been supplied to Europe through TAP.



It should be noted that the transfer of Azerbaijani gas to Europe through TAP began on December 31, 2020.
