Azerbaijan’s Finance Minister and UN Coordinator Discuss Future Cooperation Framework

Baku: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev met with United Nations Resident Coordinator Vladanka Andreeva to mark the conclusion of her tenure in the country. The meeting focused on the recently signed ‘Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for 2026-2030,’ an agreement between the Government of Azerbaijan and the UN, finalized in October 2025.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions centered on aligning the framework with Azerbaijan’s national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Agenda 2030. The conversation also explored how to translate the framework into actionable outcomes.

Minister Babayev highlighted the importance of Azerbaijan’s partnership with various UN specialized agencies in advancing the nation’s development agenda and achieving sustainable development goals. He acknowledged Vladanka Andreeva’s contributions to strengthening the relationship between the UN and Azerbaijan and wished her success in her future endeavors.

Vladanka Andreeva expressed her gratitude for the cooperation between the UN Country Office and the Government of Azerbaijan during her four-and-a-half-year tenure, underscoring the positive collaboration achieved during this period.
