The Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AFSA) recently hosted a meeting with members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham) to discuss state-led initiatives aimed at fostering a sustainable and competitive business environment. The meeting underscored the importance of establishing mutual cooperation mechanisms between the two entities.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Agency is spearheading systematic reforms to enhance accessibility for food industry stakeholders. Key highlights of these reforms include the full digitization of import-export operations, enabling entrepreneurs to apply for and receive permits in real-time through streamlined electronic platforms. Additionally, there have been significant improvements in the quality and turnaround time of laboratory testing to facilitate the rapid movement of goods.

These strategic measures have also aimed to bolster the international presence of Aze rbaijani products, which have already resulted in the export of food products to 73 countries worldwide. Both parties agreed on the necessity of ensuring closer and more effective communication with entrepreneurs to further these goals.
