Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Engages with New French Ambassador

Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, engaged in talks with Sophie Lagoutte, the newly appointed Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan, as she presented her credentials.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister Bayramov extended his congratulations to Ambassador Lagoutte on her appointment, expressing his wishes for her success in her new role. The discussion between the two focused on the current state of both bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and France, alongside regional and international issues.

The meeting included an exchange of views regarding the causes of the crisis in Azerbaijani-French relations. Both parties underscored the importance of continuing mutual dialogue and discussions despite the existing challenges. Minister Bayramov also provided the ambassador with an update on the current developments and realities in the region, particularly in the context of the post-conflict period and the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Ambassador Lagoutte emphasized her commitment to strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and France, stating she would spare no effort in her endeavors. The meeting also included exchanges on other issues of mutual concern.
