A delegation from Azerbaijan, headed by Niyazi Bayramov, the Head of the Ganja City Executive Authority, embarked on an official visit to Qingdao, China, on April 20. The visit marked a significant step in enhancing cooperation between the two cities.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation met with Geng Tao, the Deputy Mayor of Qingdao. Both officials emphasized the positive trajectory of Azerbaijan-China relations, which have been bolstered by the strategic initiatives of the countries' leaders. They noted that the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership had inaugurated a new phase in bilateral relations.

Geng Tao acknowledged the importance of this visit, being the first since the signing of a cooperation agreement between Ganja and Qingdao. This agreement was part of the People's Diplomacy Forum and Twin Cities Forum organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2023. Tao also pointed out Ganja's rich cultural and literary heritage and its potential for collaboration in various sectors such as economic, trade, cultural, humanitarian, and tourism.

Niyazi Bayramov expressed the significance of enhancing economic, trade, and cultural ties with Qingdao. He highlighted Ganja's existing partnerships with sister cities around the globe and extended an invitation to the Qingdao city leadership to visit Ganja.

During their visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also toured the headquarters of Hisense Company, a well-known enterprise in China.
