Baku: In the first two months of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 15,868.46 kilograms of gold with a total value of 1.42 billion USD.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the average import price per kilogram of gold during this period was USD 89,614.7.
Furthermore, Azerbaijan produced 478.3 kg of gold in the same timeframe. During January and February, 748.3 kg of unrefined gold, valued at USD 40.17 million, was exported to Switzerland. The average export price per kilogram was USD 53,682.9. For reference, the previous year saw Azerbaijan importing 41,078.4 kilograms of gold worth USD 3.31 billion from 11 countries.
The gold imports comprised semi-finished gold in various forms, including bars, wires, profiles, and sheets, but excluded strips or ribbons less than 0.15 mm thick. The following is a detailed breakdown of the gold import volumes by country for January-February 2025:
