Baku: Ordukhan Teymurkhan has been summoned to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as confirmed by a statement from the office to ITV, APA reports. The summons relates to accusations under Article 467-13.4 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan against Ordukhan Teymurkhan Babirov.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a formal notice has been issued to Ordukhan Teymurkhan Babirov, born on September 23, 1969, requiring his presence at the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office. He is required to appear with an identity document on May 16, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the administrative building located in Baku’s Binagadi district.
The decision to charge Ordukhan Teymurkhan was made on September 7, 2020, under several articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. It is suspected that between April and August 2019, he conspired with others, including convicted individuals, to make public calls on social media for the violent seizure of power, forcible changes to the constitutional order, and incitement of mass riots in Azerbaijan.
Since Ordukhan Teymurkhan fled the investigation and is believed to be outside Azerbaijan, charges could not initially be brought against him. Consequently, a search was declared, and a preventive measure of arrest was ordered by the Nasimi District Court of Baku on September 7, 2020.
Ordukhan Babirov has been informed of his rights, including the right to participate in the investigation, representation by a defense attorney, and other procedural rights. He must provide details of his attorney to the investigative authority if he intends to use one.
The accused has been warned that failure to respond to the summons could lead to proceedings in absentia, resulting in a verdict or another court decision being issued against him as per the Criminal Procedure Code of Azerbaijan.
