Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis and ISC Discuss Parliamentary Cooperation

Baku: Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis hosted a meeting with the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers' Conference (ISC) on August 7, focusing on enhancing cooperation between the two entities. Fariz Ismayilzade, Deputy Chairman of the Science and Education Committee of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, and Farid Hajiyev, Head of the Milli Majlis Administration, engaged in discussions with ISC's delegation led by Secretary General Ek Nath Dhakal and Director of International Cooperation Hajime Saito.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Fariz Ismayilzade provided the ISC officials with an overview of the Azerbaijani Parliament's international initiatives. He emphasized the successful collaborations with various interparliamentary organizations and elaborated on Milli Majlis' efforts in advancing parliamentary diplomacy. Ismayilzade also highlighted Azerbaijan's international initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included providing aid to several countries.

Ek Nath Dhakal shared insights into the ISC's activities and discussed potential avenues for enhancing collaboration with the Milli Majlis. The dialogue aimed to strengthen the ties and explore opportunities for future cooperation between the two entities.

Head of Administration Farid Hajiyev provided the ISC delegation with an understanding of the history, current structure, and activities of the Milli Majlis. The meeting facilitated an exchange of ideas and set the stage for continued cooperation.

After the meeting, the ISC delegation toured the Milli Majlis building. They explored the memorial corner, initiated by Speaker Sahiba Gafarova, dedicated to Azerbaijan's victory during the Patriotic War, and visited the Parliament's Plenary Hall.
