Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education Meets ICESCO Chief to Discuss Scientific Partnership

Rabat: Azerbaijani Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev met with ICESCO Director-General Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in scientific research and knowledge exchange between ICESCO Member States and Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting, held at the Organization's headquarters in Rabat, was also attended by Ambassador Nazim Samadov, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Morocco and Permanent Delegate to ICESCO. ICESCO Director-General Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan's confidence in ICESCO and its ongoing support for initiatives in education, science, and scientific research in member states. He highlighted the strategic partnership agreement aimed at rehabilitating educational infrastructure in Syria.

The ICESCO Director-General also noted that the Organization has welcomed many talents from Azerbaijan, aiming to foster cooperation and knowledge exchange between Central Asian countries and the Islamic world. Minister Emin Amrullayev emphasized the Ministry's efforts to strengthen the education system by developing initiatives and integrating universities and research centers into the scientific research ecosystem. He also expressed Azerbaijan's willingness to develop further programs in STEM fields and enhance university and student exchanges.
