Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Youth and Sports Unveils Series of Events for COP29 in Baku.


BAKU: The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan is set to host a series of 14 events during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), scheduled from November 11 to 22 in Baku.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the events will include a ‘Next COP Dialogue of the Central Asian and Azerbaijan Youth Climate Leaders’ on November 13, followed by ‘POLICY JAM: Unlocking Youth-Friendly and Ambitious Climate Finance’ on November 14. Other events include ‘Youth in Regional Energy Negotiations: Where Are They?’ and ‘Innovations in Intergenerational Partnerships’ on November 15.

The series continues with ‘UAE – Upskilling Youth for Policy Engagement’ and ‘Turning Points Dialogues: ‘Climate Tech’ and AgTech for South Caucasus’ on November 16, as well as ‘Scotland beyond Net Zero Group’. On November 18, the focus will shift to ‘Sport in the shadows of COP29: ‘Fit’ Solutions for Sustainable Action’ and ‘Schools Across the Ocean’.

he agenda also features ‘Youth Connect: Bridging Global Knowledge on Emerging Skills and Knowledge Gaps in Green Economies’ on November 18, ‘Yukselish’ Model for Climate Action’ and ‘Youth Negotiations on SDG14, in the case of Caspian Sea’ on November 19. ‘Youth Negotiations: ‘Cities, Climate Advocacy and Youth’ is slated for November 20.

The series will conclude with ‘Empowering Youth Coalition for Nature Based Solutions (NBS) in 6 regions: Near East and Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe and Central Asia, South Caucasus, Asia and Pacific, each focusing on solidarity and regional climate strategies’ on November 21.
