Rome: A concert program marking September 18, the National Music Day of Azerbaijan, and the 141st anniversary of the birth of the renowned composer and founder of professional Azerbaijani music, Uzeyir Hajibayli, was held in Rome, Italy. The event was co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy and the Azerbaijan Culture Center in Rome. It attracted representatives from diplomatic corps, academic circles, Azerbaijanis residing in Italy, foreign students, and media representatives.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy, Elchin Huseynli, emphasized the importance of the occasion in his remarks. He briefed participants on Uzeyir Hajibayli's creative legacy and described young Azerbaijani musicians in Italy as bridges connecting the peoples of the two countries, contributing to cultural dialogue.
Gulnar Taghizada, Deputy Director of the Azerbaijan Culture Center in Rome, also spoke at the event, underscoring the impact of Uzeyir Hajibayli's works in promoting Azerbaijani culture globally. The program included a video highlighting Hajibayli's life and creativity, followed by a concert performance.
