Baku: In a recent session of the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan's Minister of Finance, Sahil Babayev, announced that in 2025, the country successfully provided the financial resources necessary for its priority socio-economic development areas and other essential expenditures. The announcement came during the discussion of the draft law 'On the Execution of the 2025 State Budget.'

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Babayev highlighted that the state budget expenditures for 2025 were executed at 93.2% of the forecast, amounting to AZN 38.6 billion. This figure represents an increase of AZN 891 million, or 2.4%, compared to 2024. Over the past five years, the state budget expenditures have grown by AZN 11.2 billion, equivalent to a 41% increase.

The structure of the 2025 expenditures was detailed by Minister Babayev, with AZN 22.1 billion, or 57.3%, allocated to current expenditures. Capital expenditures accounted for AZN 14.4 billion, or 37.3%, while AZN 2.1 billion, or 5.4%, was directed towards servicing public debt and obligations.

The Finance Minister further emphasized that a significant portion of the current expenditures, amounting to 92% or AZN 20.4 billion, was covered by revenues generated from Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas sector, showcasing the sector's substantial contribution to the nation's financial framework for the year.
