Baku: Azerbaijan's non-oil sector exports, excluding non-monetary gold, amounted to USD 2.5 billion in the period from January to July 2026. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this figure represents an 18.3% increase compared to the same period in 2025, highlighting the growth and diversification of Azerbaijan's economy beyond its traditional oil sector.
In July alone, the non-oil sector exports increased by 15.8% compared to the previous year, reaching USD 384.8 million. The exports of food products during this period were recorded at USD 123 million, while exports of non-food products saw a substantial rise of 26%, amounting to USD 261.8 million.
The report indicates significant growth in various export categories. Specifically, sugar exports surged 2.6 times compared to the previous year. Additionally, exports of cotton yarn increased by 81.9%, vegetable and animal fats and oils by 39.5%, aluminum and related products by 39.4%, cotton fiber by 24.9%, ferrous metals and their products by 23.3%, tea by 19.5%, fruits and vegetables by 16.4%, and beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, by 3.0%.
Furthermore, exports of agricultural products saw an increase of 22.1%, reaching USD 673.4 million, while agro-industrial product exports rose by 24.8% to USD 223.1 million. Overall, the combined exports of agricultural and agro-industrial products increased by 22.8%, totaling USD 896.4 million, reflecting a robust performance in these sectors.
