Azerbaijan’s Oil and Gas Sector Employs Over 31,000 in Nine Months


BAKU: A total of 31,700 people were employed in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas sector from January to September, with an average monthly nominal salary of 3,745 manat ($2,202), as reported by the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

According to Trend News Agency, the data highlighted a significant disparity in wages between state and private sector employees within the industry. Employees at state-owned enterprises earned an average monthly wage of 953.7 manat ($561), while those at private companies received about 1,042 manat ($612.9). This information underscores the ongoing economic dynamics within Azerbaijan’s crucial oil and gas sector, which plays a pivotal role in the nation’s economy.
